1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
Being a modern woman means having the liberty to be who you want to be without the confines of society dictating you otherwise. Women have always been strong and valuable but haven’t always been given the freedom to choose a direction other than what their culture imposed upon them. Being a modern woman means knowing the history of women’s oppression, and consequently rising up to be the voice others before them were unable to voice.

2. What is the strangest thing in your fridge?
I believe that finding and embracing true womanhood is personal to each woman. Throughout history each society and culture has dictated and passed on their own values, traditions and biases regarding the ‘rite of passage’ from girlhood to womanhood. Ultimately a girl becomes a woman once she has found the power within herself to strike out and follow her own path to unapolagetically become who she was meant to be.

3.What’s something you only do when you’re bored?
Disappointment can often be mistaken for failure—and it’s never easy to accept less than what was “hoped for” in any given situation. For me the best way to handle disappointment is to face it sqaure on, reach out/talk about it with someone I trust, allow myself time to process, get back up, and ultimately re-focus myself on the positive aspects of my situation.

4.What is a purchase you made that you immediately regretted?
A definite picture-perfect moment in my life was the day I stood on stage and auditioned for my dream college…and achieved a $60,000 scholarship to attend the American Musical and Dance Academy in NYC! Because of that amazing moment, I’m now a thriving, full-time student at AMDA, pursuing my career and life goals.

5.What kind of Barbie would you be?
When I’m faced with stress and pressure, I make a mental checklist of potential causes and what/who is responsible. I ask myself what is my responsibility and what is not. If it’s “mine” and I can DO something, then there’s no need to stress. If it’s not ultimately “mine” and there’s nothing I can do, then there’s also no need to stress. This keeps me grounded and reminds me what is truly important.
